It's funny, I have heard this from a lot of people, but personally The Gunslinger is one of my favorites of the series. I really got into it, far more than Book 2.
Yes, read the whole series and love them. I'm still so sad Douglas Adams has passed. I met him once at a signing and he was very friendly and kind. MISS HIM.
Who else is excited about this comic announcement?? I know I'm stoked, the Firefly / Serenity comics so far have been interesting but didn't satisfy that itch I feel for a continuation of the story. Now it looks like we will get it.

Fantastic book, one of my favorites. (the movie is also a favorite) The "You are not special, you are not a unique snowflake" monologue sticks out in my mind as one of the best moments/themes.
I love this book. Really haunting and yes, a classic. The disturbing "society" the kids create and its breakdown are chilling examples of what can and does happen in the real world.
