I've been addicted to reading at the moment.
I get through at least one book a day and then start on another, one after another after another!
I know this isn't an intresting topic but I think its funny that I'm reading one after another instead of doing other things!
I guess I'm doing this at the moment because I've not been feeling myself recently and I want to close my mind and explore a diffrent world, away from my troubles at the moment.
Does anyone else do this or has done this amount of reading before?

If it had been anyone else I would've jumped all over that line.

To answer your question though, yes, when in jail.

And thanks for bringing back such fond memories. :p

Reading takes up pretty much all my free time ( mostly ) If I am not reading a novel then I am reading on the net. Although, not quite as much as you though!

Sometimes it can really help to submerge yourself into something to take you away from things and give you a rest. :)

Before I really started buying books, I lived one block away from a library. I did the same thing - read one book a day sometimes more. It was also a time when I was discovering authors I had not read before. Then all of the sudden one day, I just stopped going to the library so much.

Now, I don't live close to a library so I've been buying books. I have to say usually I cannot wait to get home to start reading. I used to start reading them while walking to my car, but that can be dangerous.

Can't say that I've ever went right from one to the other, I usually like to stew over the book I finished for a bit, thinking about it and paging back through marked sections.

Delighted that you found a way to lose yourself in another world though Rainbow, it becomes one of your greatest allies, trust me. No matter where it is directed (so long as it's not too violent) passion is such a wonderful thing. Without it I could not think of a reason to live. Good luck with your problems, answers will come to you in time. I'm sure books will both speed up the process and give you a greater perspective on the problems you encoutner. Bon soir little rainbow.

As soon as I finish a book I start on a new one, so, in that way, we are the same.

But one book a day?!

Cheers

I'm not addicted to books in general, but I have been addicted to certain authors or storylines.

Like True, I try to put a few days between my books. It usually depends on how much the book affects me. If it's a book I really liked, I'll take a few days to ponder on it. And if not, I'll start a new one right away.

I do have a few other habits that I lose myself into. Playing guitar mostly. I don't think that this is a bad thing. Alot of people who have depression don't have anything to lose themselves into. Not to say that you are depressed but reading is a very good way to lose yourself and forget about life and stress for a while. I've used it many, many times. :)

I did that last week. I read a book a day for about a week. If it is very interesting, compelling, I'll spend all of my "free" time reading it. There is nothing wrong with needing a "time-out" from realworld stresses and pressures. I go to the library every week with my mother-in-law, so I usually have a pile of books beside my bed. I also have a few other hobbies that I spend time on. Hobbies are a good thing, all work and no play make for a very dull life.
