AIM instant messenger:
Should I use it again?

Yes
No
Don’t know
Up to you

Everyone seems to have AIM and I thought it might be a good backup incase anything goes wrong with MSN or my yahoo... But I want you nice people to decide for me! :p

Ah well. I don't have AIM, so I don't know how good it is. The new Yahoo messenger lets you have an animated avatar that pulls faces depending on the smilies you've just used. But I spose it will wear thin with me after a bit. The doodle pad did. I end up mostly using MSN.

I think you should make your choice based on how many friends you have using each service. It can be a pain having lots of IM services running at the same time.

AIM takes up a lot of computer memory. I only have an account because I can use the chat program Fire (like Trillian, but more stable and for Macs), which doesn't eat up memory.

Trillion never works. It always gets out of date and you can't connect to whatever network!

I use MSN mostly :)

I've never had any problems with Trillian. You're just a technical incompetent. :p

So, if you use MSN mostly, is that why I'm only allowed to talk to you in Yahoo? And is that also the reason you're always in invisible mode? You hate me don't you? :(

Hmmm trillian works ok for me but I only use it on my laptop - on my desktop I tend to use MSN messenger though I do have Yahoo messenger running in the background (when I remember to load it up  )

I also still have ICQ on my laptop which I used to use all the time - I think its a good program.

AIM is alright, I only use it when I need to talk to members of my site for the most part. Personally, I much prefer msn over aim. Why? Msn seems to work more often, you get to upload personal emoticons, change how your name shows up whenever you want, get to mix and match backgrounds with windows, and I just think it looks better, although you probably can't count the last as a real reason for most people.

I've tried yahoo and ICQ as well, both of which work, but they just don't seem to have what I like in a messanger. It'll be a happy day in hell before I use trillian- if only because I'm far too attached to my avatars, games, emoticons and backgrounds(those and the file transfers on trillian never seem to work).
