I was just wondering if anyone has read this book yet, and if so, what their answer to these questions are. --If you havent read it, i recommend it!
One way of reading Alia Yunis’s The Night Counter is to consider Sheherazade as a sort of “therapist” for Fatima. By coaxing Fatima to tell the stories of her life and her family’s lives, Sheherazade is trying to help Fatima heal from her grief and see the more positive aspects of her life.Discuss one or two of the psychological blocks that is/are keeping Fatima from living fully at the beginning of the novel. Then discuss how telling the stories of her life helps Fatima understand her life differently by the end of the novel and perhaps begin the process of healing.
