Andrew Davidson: The Gargoyle

DragonFly08

I am nearly finished with the book and I am dying to talk to someone that has read the book, or is working on the book. This is definitely one of my favorite books that I have ever read. The characters are all very well written, and the stories within the story are just amazing. It is very refreshing to read something like this, it is completely different than any other. Just reading 3/4's of the book, I'm already a HUGE Andrew Davidson fan. I really look forward to reading more from him.

So has anyone?!

I finished it recently. I did enjoy it, and am glad I got a copy and read it when I did. It seems to be carrying a lot of hype now. Had I heard all the hype, I wouldn't have read it.

I think it had it's strengths. The numerous stories within the main story were really heartbreaking, but also very good. Overall the whole story was good. I also like how it finished, leaving much up to the imagination of the reader. He tied up what could be, and left open good chunks to make you wonder.

It's not out in the UK until next month, but it's precisely because of the hype that I'm unlikely to want to read it. I mean, the hype started around Christmas when I received a small booklet with the Sei, the Glassblower's Apprentice story. Perhaps, in time, when the hype has died down, I may pick it up.

There doesn't seem to be much hype about it to me. No one I know, other than you Scooter, has read the book. Only like 6 reader reviews on B&N's website last time I checked. Nothing like most of the books... I definitely think its an amazing book, and I have been recommending it to friends & family!

There doesn't seem to be much hype about it to me.
As I said, it's out in the UK shortly - the end of this week, I think. Prior to that there's been hype. The sizeable sum paid for the rights no doubt justify the effort put into making it sell so that the cash can be recouped and start making a profit.
