Arturian Legends

I'm currently reading the mists of Avalon, and it is wonderful. I haven't read alot of different takes on the Arthurian Legends, I was wondering if anyone could recomend any books about King Arthur, or any other stories surrounding it.

The Once and Future King by T.H. White is a classic, and my favourite.

Le Morte d'Arthur is the oldest Arthurian legend, and also very good.

I would also recommend the Merlin trilogy by James Mallory based on the TV miniseries by the same name. (starring Sam Neill, Miranda Richardson, Martin Short, Helena Bonham Carter, Isabella Rossellini and other big names)

There are many, many others, but those are by far my favourites.

If you are interested in the actual history behind the fictional character, try The Discovery of King Arthur by Geoffrey Ashe.

If you liked the strong women characters in “The Mists Of Avalon”, then I would also recommend “The Dragon Queen” and “The Raven Warrior” by Alice Borchardt.

I read The Crystal Cave by Mary Stewart when I was about 13. I remember liking it but it was 12 years ago and I was rather young, so no promises.

There's also Arthurian Romances by Chretien de Troyes, which I read for a college level History class on Western Civ. Very different style of thing, but I enjoyed it.
