Asian Soccer Cup won by Iraq

The Iraqi soccer team won their first Asian Cup in it's history. It was a great game and an amazing victory.

I have the feeling that we should be viewing this as more that just another team winning just another trophy, but I am not sure why.

Because the Iraqi players played together as a team regadless their religion or identity and without enmity, but rather under one flag... it gives hope for a unified country.

I guess there weren't any Iranians nor Americans in the field

Well, when the situation reaches that limit of destruction, death and internal fighting, any event will be looked about upon as a strand of hope.
