Ok, I have just purchased this book at a garage sale. There is no author visible anywhere, but the date is 1879. I am trying to find out the actual value and/or any info on this book and I have searched everywhere without any success. This is my last hope to find out more about this book.

To view a picture of the front cover (I scanned this picture), go to: http://www.fotothing.com/kgbconman/photo/9d3dcacee0ec26d49967ffd9c41726bd/

If you would like a more detailed picture please email me at kgbconman -- AT (@) -- hotmail.com

This is what is written on the Front Cover:
------------------------------------------------------
| St. Patrick's Cathedral
| New York
|
| A Full Description Of The Exterior And Interior
| Of The New Cathedral, The Altars
| And Windows:
|
| Agnes [Creers??]
|
| With Biographical Sketches Of
|
| His Eminence Cardinal McCloskey
| AND
| The Most Rev. Archbishop Hughes, D.D.
|
|
| West Chester:
| The New York Catholic Protectory Print
| 1879.
------------------------------------------------------

Then on page 2 (which is not numbered), it says:

------------------------------------------------------
Copyrighted by
Very Rev. WM. Quinn, V.G.
1879.
------------------------------------------------------

The last page is numbered 56 (excluding the covers and the first sheet). So this is a very thin paperback.

If anyone knows anything about this exact book, or would require more information, please contact me. Thanks.

Try the forum at AbeBooks since they are more interested in second hand and rare books. Personally, I doubt it would be worth much since it's not something considered a classic and it would probably be of more interest to a collector of local history items.

I'll second Stewart's opinion. If I had it at a show, I'd prob'ly ask $10 - $12 for it. But, I can't imagine anybody buying it. And, as I've said in other threads, 1879 isn't all that long ago in terms of books and ephemera.

I just discovered this site via searching for this particular book through Google. Since your posting is several years old, are there any new comments concerning this? Inherited this from my grandparents who were born in mid-late 1800's.
