It's time their was a HOF for outstanding writers! Here are the rules for voting your favorite writers in:
1. If a writer gets 75% or more of the vote, he/she gets in.
2. If a writer gets 5% or less of the vote, he/she does not get in.
3. If a writer is not elected by the tenth time around, he/she does not get in.
4. Please be serious when voting and nominating.
5. Please be strict. This is for true great writers, no Agatha Christy's nor Tom Clancy's should be in.
Ok, I will now be accepting nominations. You may nominate up to 5 writers, and in a few days the ten most nominated will be run through the voting process.

Roald Dahl - My Uncle Oswald
Edgar Allen Poe - The Tell-Tale Heart
Robert McCammon - Boy's Life
Ambrose Bierce - And Occurance at Owl Creek Bridge
Robert Lewis Stevenson - Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde

This is really hard! I took this to mean best writers ever, for any age group... so in no particular order:

Graham Greene
John Steinbeck
Mark Twain
Dr. Seuss (Theodore Geisel)
Jane Austen

I think Steinbeck, Austen and Twain are fairly obvious selections. Dr. Seuss probably introduced many of us to the joys of reading and definitely deserves a mention, IMHO. Graham Greene may be more my personal taste, but I believe The Power and the Glory is probably the best book ever written. If you haven't read it, please do so immediately!!

Looking forward to what others say, as I will probably go "oooohhh... I forgot him/her!" :p

Mark Twain
James Herriot (I'm serious so dont laugh!)
I started to nominate Erma Bombeck, but I was afraid of being banned.
