OK. I've been reading like a mad man the last month or so. I finished The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy over the weekend and was supposed to start another book. I just couldn't bring myself to start it though. Suddenly it seemed sortof ick. Now, everybook I look at looks ick. Last night I read My Sister's Keeper because it is the next book of the month for this forum. I just don't know where to go from here.

Can you guys help me pick something to read?

No 1 Ladies Detective Agency.
Read it a couple of months ago enjoyed it, plan to read the rest in the series.

Cabrasopa

Da Vinci Code. Something light and easy. Take your mind out and settle down to a good adventure :)

I'm struggling at the minute with my book. Think i'm suffering the same fate as youl. Read too much crime fiction recently. Mind need to change genre for a while

I've been there before. I've found it helps to read an old favorite - something simple and non-challenging where you enjoy the characters.

If you're looking for something new, though, I voted for the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency. I really enjoyed this book - the laconic way in which it is written really appealed to me.

i was there for like 3 months. i went through a lot of really "heavy" reading and then just felt, blah. i tried life of pi and couldn't concentrate. finally i found my groove again, and it was with the davinci code. it's an easy read and moves along. now i am back in the game, baby!!!

I will stray from the list you provided and recommend "Tortilla Flats" by John Steinbeck. It is an enjoyable read, an easy read, and at the same time you will be reading one of the great authors.

I've read it, and you are right, it was good. Weird too, because I'm really not much of a fan of his writing (I know, I should be shot).

Ok, let me then suggest the 2nd book of the Trilogy, "Cannery Row" or if you have read that the 3rd book, "Sweet Thursday". :)

Wow. I guess people here do like the Da Vinci Code (I had heard it wasn't exactly loved here). I'll start it tonight!

Mrs. Sell Sword loves the Ladies Detective Agency and has read the entire series. And since she has such great taste in men ;) , I figure she must have great taste in books as well!!!
