Book Signing

I pre-ordered two signed copies of Tony LaRussa's One Last Strike. He is having a book signing at Books-A-Million in Paducah, KY. Is there any chance he might not sign the books a second time? I don't know if there is any etiquette for this. One of the copies is a Christmas present for my mom and she would love to meet him.

I think if you present him with an already signed book to sign you're going to look like an idiot. By all means you and your mom take the books but make it clear you both just wanted to meet him and ask for dedications.
