Hello all bibliophiles!
Let me preface my first post by saying that I have long desired for a site like this and only recently did I take the genius step of googling "online book forum" and so here I am. First of all, this is a fantastic site and I have already enjoyed reading people's lists, opinions, and reviews of some of my favorite books and some that I hope to read in the near future.
My main question in this first post is to ask if anyone currently has a job in a bookstore. I'm looking into this as my first ever job (I'm 16) and was wondering what your position is, what it pays, and how (or if) you like it. The three main book stores in my area that I'm probably going to apply at in the near future are Borders, Waldenbooks, and Barnes and Noble. I wish there was some local alternative besides the soon to be out of business "Erie Book Store", I live in Erie, PA BTW, but it appears I'm stuck with the major chains.
Any insight or advice in response to my question will be greatly appreciated!
Happy Reading.
