book tiltle? can't remember it!

Hi,

I used to love a book and can't remeber for the life of me any real detail, except that it was a childrens book with very detailed illustations on each page. There were little things hiding in the picture and you had to look really hard to find then, like hidden cats and things. I think the story line involved a little boy too but can't be sure. would have been early 80's.

I know that description is vague to say the least but thats all I can remember but I would love to get it for my little girl as I used to love it so.

If anyone can I help I would be suitably amazed!

Sounds vaguely like Animalia by Grahaem Base. It doesn't have a boy, but is more like an ABC book, with all sorts of pictures of critters, some hidden, some in plain view. It's a beautiful book anyway!

I've just had a look for that one and although it doesn't look like the one I remember (but I was only 6 or 7 at the time!) I'm gonna get it anyway! Thanks.

Mmmm..it definitely sounds like a Graeme Base book. What about The Eleventh Hour (you have to search for tiny mice throughout the book), The Jabberwocky, or others? There's a list of his books here, if it helps.

I've odreded Animalia from amazon, (but have to wait for it to come from the states) and I should be able to tell from that if it's a book by the same author.
