Book titles

Hi everyone,

I'm in need of books that basically deal with the rise and fall of 'something'. Could be anything, really, as long as it tells some kind of story that has to do with something being created that goes completly wrong in the end. Or ie. the rise and fall of a new imperium. Or something that deals with '15 minutes of fame'. I need 60 of these, the titles of the book are enough…

Thanks in advance!

The Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin - book of the cracking TV comedy series
The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire - Gibbons - non-fiction.

Slightly off topic (sorry) I once put to an author, Stephen Booth actually, about titles for his books and he replied with this little gem first the question-ish and his reply.
One thing I do like very much is your choice of titles BTTBs is no exception either, your first one Black Dog, puzzled me, I thought it was a vague Churchillian reference.!

Thanks, steelclaw. Titles are very important to me, and they have to feel 'just right'. Getting the right title in my head often helps the writing.

Sometimes, it can be a phrase I've just written, which leaps out at me from the screen. That happened in the case of BLIND TO THE BONES, which was an expression used by Diane Fry halfway through the book, if I remember rightly. BLACK DOG had a different working title, but once that phrase came into my head during the writing, I knew it was exactly right.
Stephen

It's great one can ask an author/ess about their titles and how they come about...and just how apt they turn out to be.
