I love Anthony Burgess but unfortunately I am running out of fiction works by Burgess that I have not read. My favorite books by him are probably One Hand Clapping, The Wanting Seed, and Tremor of Intent. His writing is somewhat complex but vivid and poetic. I have also read/enjoyed all of the work of both Orwell and Ray Bradbury.

I find that all three have a very intriguing way with words that I find fascinating.

Can anyone suggest a good book or author for me?

The only work of Burgess i have read is A Clockwork Orange but i'd be keen to read other books of his. According to Burgess himself i think, he rates it as one of his lesser books even though it is the most famous. I loved the way he experimented with language, and it transferred brilliantly over to the film!

IMO A Clockwork Orange definately was not his best work. It just received alot of notoriety due to the movie. I think it's a bit ironic that everyone knows Burgess by that particular work considering that the publishers cut the 21st chapter completely draining the book (and movie) to any solid conclusion.

The poor man is rotting in the ground and all that anyone can remember of his work is bastardized version of his least favorite endeavor.
