After finding Haunted to be uneven and putting down Rant after the first few pages, I was concerned that this book would be another disappointment from the once-great Palahniuk. Thankfully I was wrong; Snuff proved to be fast-moving and weirdly funny. Admittedly some parts were crude and overly descriptive, but I guess that's what you get when you read a novel about the adult film industry. At first I was put off by reading the perspectives of four people only, but as the plot progressed this technique made sense.
So while Snuff not his best work ever, it was definitely a step in the right direction. Although I started to lose interest in his writing, I'm now excited about his upcoming release. Let's hope that doesn't prove to be another step back for Palahniuk.
