Clothes advice

Hey all! :)

I am in the current process of sorting out my whole wardrobe with new clothes for next year because I have lost weight most of my clothes have become too baggy on me! :D

I am looking for a much more grown up/smart approach of clothes on this website www.joebrowns.co.uk

So I wanted you guys and girls opinion on what clothes you think would look good for a young 20 year old girl to wear. I am particually looking for advice on shoes, trousers and dresses mainly.
Just post the image or a link to the clothes.

Your help is most apriciated :)

The best advice would be to ask a gay man with good fashion sense. Seriously. They won't have any ulterior motives when they pick something out for you.

~~LOL~~

Nice one.

I'm being serious. If it were up to me, I'd have her wearing stuff like this:

I didn't think that you weren't – but I thought that it was a funny comment, as well as having more than a grain of truth to it. :)

Actually, I'd suggest a trip to Paris for any woman who can possibly make it. It's an education to sit in a café and just lwatch other women. It's not that they're all stunning beauties or that they all dress straight out of the pages of Elle, the fashion Bible (fortnightly in France, as opposed to monthly for the rest of us), but that they dress with confidence and flair and, even women who are, without intending to be rude, quite ugly, know how to be striking and make something individual of themselves.

I suspect it's in the genes (together with the men being able to charm the flies off flypaper). ;)

I searched that catalog and the clothing didn't strike me as particularly smart, though I would have been able to get a better idea of how the clothes looked if they had been worn by models.
The following were my picks:

TR094 - Out On The Town Jeans
LC264 - Colourful n Casual Top
LF100 - Patent Pumps
LF069 - Gold Leaf Shoe

Without knowing your size or body shape it's difficult to suggest what would look smart on you.
Stick to classic pieces that you can mix for a casual or dressier look.
Avoid very low-cut tops or low rise pants.

Perhaps twill for trousers? If you prefer denim, don't wear faded or "washed" blue jeans; try black, brown, blue-black denim jeans.

An a-line dress is classic and compliments any body shape.

For shoes, a pump usually goes with dresses or trousers.

I hardly ever see women wearing dresses. I think they're afraid of what happened to Marilyn Monroe.

oh yeah, I got some advice though. See Litany's icon. That's my advice for how a woman should dress.

RainbowGurl, try www.barriepace.com . A few simple rules to remember:

  • Dresses are always better
  • Stay away from flat heels but also away from come-****-me heels
  • Dresses no longer than knee length or you look and feel like a bag lady
  • Tailored never goes out of style
  • Be "too poor to buy cheap". Buy a few quality items and keep them well.
  • NO panty hose, ever. Tights are okay in winter. Love the skin on your legs and show it off.
  • Never leave the house if your foundations aren't in good shape and match.
(These are commandments!) ;)
