Crime and Punishment Creative Project

I have to write my own chapter of Crime and Punishment, mimmicking Dostoyvesky's writing style, to be placed anywhere in Parts 3, 4, or 5. The chapter must reflect thematic elements and appropriate diction and be five pages long. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

What is it with students today that they have no imagination?

That's nothing, I have to re-create a masterpiece painting in the style of a given genius, just as he would've painted it. Anyone have any ideas?

People get to write fanfiction in school now? Cool.

Ideas: read the book. Understand it. Discuss it. Learn what makes Dostoevsky's stories tick and what the point of the different characters and storylines in C&P is. Try and find some "gap" in the story where a scene could reasonably be inserted without disrupting the storyline. And don't insert an original female character named Raven who can fly and whom everyone falls in love with.
