Crosswords....ya fill 'em out?

I certainly do, picked up the habit last year. Now I cut them out and fill them in during down time at work, lunch, or at home. I also hear that as you age, it's a great way to exercise the 'ole brain.

i think crosswords are a sickness, when you start, you can't stop... i'm sitting in the middle of the night in front of the TV and do crosswords..

I do the ones my mother can't finish. It's harder than it sounds-sometimes she's put the wrong answers in but they sound right.

Sudoku-horrors! Too much like math homework for my taste. :p

I'm absolutely hooked on crosswords. We get four newspapers where I work and I cut them all out after lunch.

Over here, crosswords seem to have been forgotten and replaced by Sudoku.

I've been known to do crosswords and Sukoku. It took a little time to figure out how to solve a Sudoku.

Soon, no one will know how to spell or learn new words, but they sure as heck will know how to rearrange single-digit numbers. :(

We must revolt! We must wipe the plague that is Sudoku from this earth!

I've become very fond of crosswords lately. I recall doing these easy ones in Donald Duck magazines as a kid, but never found a new source when I stopped reading those.
There's a huge weekly one here that I absolutely love. Aside from that one, I mainly do a really small daily one in the newspaper I read. It's a good quick thing to do while eating breakfast.

When I visited the US earlier this year, I tried a few crosswords and found that to be a lot of fun too. My uncle was so kinda as to buy me a book of 100 English crosswords. Nice way to improve my vocabulary and knowledge of US trivia (there are some hints like "Yalie" that are rather tough for me)
In other words, crosswords are way, way classic.

Sudoku's quite alright with me. I've seen some that go up to at least 16 numbers now (using A, B, C etc above 9)
Only thing is that I found Sudoku to get rather boring and repetitive after a while, so I tend not to bother anymore. Unlike crosswords, there's really only so much variation.
I'm surprised I haven't seen many offshoots of it, to be honest. I'm sure some interesting variations could be made. The only one I can think of was called Word-sudoku or something along those lines, but I didn't stop to find out what it was.

I am like the person that can't walk and chew gum at the same time.

I prefer listening to music over doing crossword.:)

I'm hooked on crosswords. I buy the big crossword collection books from the supermarket about every two weeks, and I make sure that I have a crossword book on me whenever I'm going travelling. I think they're great.

I absolutely adore sudoku! I print them out to do if work is slow. I am now working at a Hard level... working my way up to Evil difficulty. They are teribly addicting but I just love them! I tried explaining the game to people at work who ask, but they just cock their heads to the side with a very confused look upon their faces.

Is there a secret method for solving crosswords? I cannot 'get' the clues...!

Maybe you're trying the Cryptic ones instead of normal, because normal ones are pretty straight forward. You just have to find a synonym for the clue that fits into the grid. Sometimes you may also have to finish a well-known phrase or term.
