discrimination is discrimination is discrimination

It saddens me that we have seen the debasement of a perfectly good word. Discriminating at one time meant the ability to sort things out, to discriminate between the good, the better, and the best. As in the sentence, "He is a discriminating collector."

If me and silverseason applied for the same job, whose decision is it as to who is better qualified? The hiring manager.

If I was given the job over silverseason because I had more experience (or maybe I didn't) how would silverseason know whether it was "discrimination" or not?

Simple. If silverseason if anything other than a straight white Christian male, it's "discrimination".

I know it sounds like a joke, but it pretty much is the reality these days.

Just so you know, I agree that it should be the hiring manager's decision. But when we have "equal opportunity" and "anti-discrimination" laws, it isn't always the hiring manager's decision. It becomes the government's decision. Isn't it interesting how no one is allowed to "discriminate" except government?
