Do you have a preference for publishers?

When you're strolling through a bookstore, do you notice your eye coming back again to a familiar publisher or line of books? For instance, I find that I don't usually go wrong picking up some of the more obscure stuff in the Modern Library Classics collection (not the instantly recognisable works, but moreso the lesser known authors that find their way in).

Do you find that there are ever any real advantages to choosing one publisher over another, and if so, which one?

To weigh in first... as I said, I like the Modern Library Classics collection. I'm also a fan of the Everyman's Library (though in this case I'm more inclined towards their collections of an author's work). In both cases the books are very presentable, take wear well, and usually have some fairly insightful commentary on the text.

I really don't care all that much about publisher. Some of the best books I've ever read have been published by tiny unknown houses. I do, however, have a couple publishing houses that I think produce tons of utter crap and I try to steer clear of.

Off Topic but how was the Da Vinci Code?

It was good. I thought the book before it, Angels & Demons was better though. Neither will ever be classics, but I think they were worth reading.
