Does anyone know the title/series?

I'm looking for a series of 3 books (well last I knew of them anyways) that I read when I was about 12 (I'm 17 now). All I can remember is that some of the characters were called Bird, Spider and the main character was called Fish. He was a mega throw-back. At least I think. There were little gangs of teenagers and they were in a desert or something like that.

Sorry I couldn't get more precise.. can anyone help me?

I also think its the "The Outsiders" by S. E. Hinton
Loved this book, must dig it out again. :)
 
Nope, not the Outsiders. I'm pretty sure. Sodapop, Ponyboy, and Too-Bad Matthews while having funny names aren't those MC mentioned.

Could be Rumble Fish also by Susan Hinton, but I really doubt it. Can't be of any positive help...
