Don DeLillo: Point Omega

I just finished Point Omega by Don Delillo. It is the story of a documentary film maker attempting to create a one take interview/film of the ramblings and musings of an aged advisor to the U.S. defense department.
Isolated in the New Mexico desert the young filmaker and the old man form a bond that is strengthened by the arrival of the elderly gentleman's daughter.
And then something bad happens.

At one hundred sixteen pages, this story could be finished in a single sitting. It took me three days due to the fact that DeLillo's prose is so entrancing in places, that I didn't want to rush through it. That said, at the end I felt that the book was just too short for all of the ideas and themes that it was attempting to deal with. I wanted more, but maybe that is the proof of a good story.

Good review 753C. Definitely sounds like an intriguing read. Above the three-stars that you give it, in fact.
I have my eyes peeled for it, so thank you. :flowers:

Yeah... I was right on the verge of 4 stars. DeLillo is one of those that often times deserves a second read. He just sort of immerses you in the characters, and because of this you don't really get a coherent picture of them until well into the story.
It really is an enjoyable read though. Let me know what you think of it after you finish.
