OK I read the Owner's post about donation and that Amazon.com pays 5% commision on sales. Will this site get commision if, everytime I buy something from Amazon.com, I go to the site from the link on this site? Cause I buy stuff from that site pretty often mabey once or twice every month average, and i would like this site to benifit from that if it could.

That would be a yes :)

As long as you follow the link from this site! You can buy what you like there and this site gets the cash :)

Fark wish I would have joined this site about 1 week ago and known about this because I bought about $50 worth.... sorry.. but luckily I plan on more and more and more when I move next month.

Same here, as long as our references are ok we're hoping to move in about 3 weeks :) So after that we can start buying copious amounts of books etc from amazon again :D

I wish I could use Amazon, but I can't dammit!

And good luck from me also.

Cheers, Martin

I've never actually used Amazon, it scares me :( But I have been considering having a go... I'll remember to follow the links if I do.

Moving house is so, so stressful - more good luck from meeeee :)

Well I was very well behaved and put my last Amazon order through this site. :)

It's not a place to be scared of Freya. As long as you're using a credit card you shouldn't have any problems at all. I've been using them for years and in all that time they only got one order wrong and when I told them they fixed it right away and let me keep the stuff they'd sent by mistake. Turned out to be a good thing as it exposed me to a new author. And you can pick up some real bargains in the 'New & Used' section as well as some stuff that's hard to come by otherwise.

It'll never be the same as a real bookshop, of course, but you can certainly save yourself some money.

Good luck with the move, Ice!

Freya, I've also been using Amazon for years...great place, and I've never had any problems.

I'm still without extra money right now, so no ordering books for me for a while. How frustrating.

aaah got over the fear, and they do take Switch. Whoo!

Did you buy something nice? Or are you still just browsing? The part I like best about Amazon are the recommendations. It's recommended some excellent books to me in the past. It's worth taking the time to rate your past purchases just so the recommendations become more tuned to your preferences.

Just pootling round really, gah it's quite confusing.

I'm not sure if it was recommending or just showing me the bestseller list, but top of the list was Jordans book... scary. What's scarier is I contemplated it for a moment :)

Amazon has some good features :)

The "If you liked this then you may like this" feature is good. When you are viewing a book. You will see on the page some recommendations based on that some people got that book and liked it also got those other books. That way there is a chance you might like it :)

The "recommendations" list. Whenever you log on. You will see they have a list of recommendations for you. This list is based on the stuff you brought. They give you recommmendations of books that are by the same author or similar authors/subjects/theme.

I find both those features very useful. Then there is list mania lol
