Maldar Shiff was a master wizard of the elements and nature. He could alter the weather with this power as well as make the raw elements appear. He could focus this power and create fire and ice , water and wind. His companion went by the name of Amna. She could alter the psyche, as well as

change the speed of time. She was a wood-elf and had a bit of a wicked sense of humour. In moments of boredom, she liked nothing better than to cast spells on innocent human passer-bys. Her favourite trick was to put people into fast-forward, then rapidly change them to re-wind. This lead to interesting exclamations like "sdrawkcab gninnur pots t'nac I pleh pleh".
However, most of the time her good friend Maldar, the elf magician, kept her out of mischief busily helping to keep order in the elf kingdom.
There were often threats and perils from other

elf wizards, who constantly fought for power.
Most of these lord mages had their own following. Maldar and Amna had their own legion of freedom fighters called the Children of Fate, who believed peace would one day reign over the elven nations. Because others thought differently, the Children of Fate had their work cut out for them. These opposing forces brought turmoil to the elven nations, denying the peace the Children of Fate strived for.

Their greatest adversary was Lorgrim who lead a tribe of particularly nasty elves. They made irregular and unexpected raids on the Children of Fates village causing mayhem with their elemental magic spells. They burnt cottages, froze wells and streams, and blew down crops and trees.
Malgar decided it was time to organise

his army and retaliate, seemingly the only way to put an end to this mayham. He had had enough. So him and Amna decided together to stop Lorgrim even if it meant war. They had lordship over Camon, the eastern half of the elven nations, where Lorgrim rulled the land to the west called Bastia. The two countries had had no love for each other for eons but this was the first time one had attacked the other in years. It was time for war. Maldar and Amna knew this was the only way to stop the attacks by Lorgrim.

Bastian elves were easily identifiable by their appearance. They had long stringy hair that hung in thin greasy strands and matted, dirty beards that reached their knees. Their eyes were small, beady and orange, their noses flat and pig-like and they had no teeth.
All in all, a very ugly bunch. It made attacking them all that much easier.

The childron of Fate have two classes of soldies, Paladins and Foot soldies. Most of the Children were Foot. The few Paladins could master swords using their own psyche to make them seem magical, but they weren't. Foot Soldiers had strength in their able to do many manuevers most others could not. But Paladins were rare among the CoF, most of the time in packs for they believed in self preservation, for in battle the best buddy was a Paladin, the always had luck; hints Children of Fate.

Maldar knew he was against formidable foe. This attacking tribe was 600 strong. Maldarwas equal to a 100 soldiers. He could attack from a distence with all his natural phenom. He once mad a hurricane that battered and flooded out the opposing army. That day was a victory making him a legend.

He would have to come up with something pretty good to combat a 600 strong army. Perhaps an ice-age would fix them, freeze them to the spot. Ah, but how to keep themselves warm?
