Eat my shorts!

Yeah, heard about that.

Seems odd, to me, but maybe, just maybe, they'll be able to pull it off.

Cheers

I'm sceptical about it :)

The show currently isn't what it used to be. If they don't have the energy, drive, and talent to make a short TV show funny then how will they pull it off in a movie? I think all the Simpsons jokes have pretty much played themselves out. It would be a surprise if the movie was any good, but it would be a very nice surprise!

According to the guys that wrote the philosphy book I'm trudging through it takes 6 months, and hundreds of artists to do a half hour episode (which is more like 20 minutes after commercials). How long to do a full length movie....????

I will be amazed if they can pul it off.

The spongebob movie sort of proved that just because a 10-20 minute show can be pretty damn funny, that does not mean it'll be funny for 90 minutes.
That's what I heard, 'cause I have not seen the spongebob movie. Although the damn tv show can be pretty funny on occasion. Hate to admit that...but what the hell...

Yeah, gonna be animated :)

MOTO: Sponge Bob might not have worked as a full length movie but South Park and Bevis and Butt Head movie did just fine. However, I do think those shows were at their peak when they got turned into movies and the Simpsons is in a fast downward spiral having been running 10 years and pretty much burned out. I also think that both South Park and Bevis and Butt Head are different from Simpsons and much more suited to a full movie. Anyway, I guess time will tell :)

"Cartwright, in London doing publicity for her one-woman show, My Life as a Ten-Year-Old Boy, indicated that the movie is still in the preliminary script development stage and it will take at least two years before it's fully animated and ready for release."

Don't hold your breath waiting...and yes...there's no "real" Simpson's fan that would ever accept anything but the cartoon version.

I heard that Julie Kavner said it would be a few years before it would be complete.

It is true that the Simpsons doesnt make me laugh as much as it used to, but I still laugh lots and enjoy it very much. I'll see the movie in the theatre if I can
