Elizabeth: The Golden Age

Highly entertaining and gorgeous to look at. Unfortunately it's also overblown and melodramatic. The montage of Philip with the candle and the storms near the cliff was particularly corny. And while the acting was good I feel Blanchett's performance in the previous installment was much better.

I saw it this afternoon and I thought it was very good. I think I'll watch the original again now. I hope I can get motivated to finish reading the book about Elizabeth I've been working on but I got side-tracked and can't seem to get back to it.

I can't wait to see this film, is it out already?:) I like Cate Blanchett a lot, I've just seen Notes on a Scandal and I loooved the way she played Elizabeth in the previous film. Her beauty is so special and it can express so much.
