Hi
I wrote this many years ago - when I was 16 actually. It made for one hell of a class presentation.
I am always interested in what people think of my writing so feel free to comment.
Embracing Death
Ricocheting off the walls
Screams of terror filled the halls
Linked in chains inside his cell
He thought he'd died and gone to hell
He surely had a seat reserved
Foremost among those who deserved
To rot depressingly inside
A place in which one can't abide
Without an everlasting sadness
Slipping slowly into madness
Yet growing madder as time passed
The screams were getting more harrassed
At times the screams intensified
When the prisoners defied
The saddistic methods used
Beaten sickeningly abused
Adding to the building stress
The screams now numbered in one less
One by one the screams died out
Yielding to the single shout
Of his own voice when he realized
What the lack of screams implied
Muscles tensed, senses hightened
Breathing hard, his chest now tightened
Footsteps sounded through the door
Nearing closer than before
The door swung out into the room
Followed by his death, his doom
Blinded by the glaring light
The lone figure was out of sight
Yet as the door closed with a creak
So did a voice begin to speak
The last among your fallen friends
The shadow of your life depends
Upon the truth, for if you lie
The consequences will be high
Stepping ever closer still
The robed man moved in for the kill
A blade was drawn, so sharp yet thin
It scraped gently across the skin
As you can see, a simple game.
Now why dont we start with your name?
After a momentous silence
The torturer enacted violence
The flesh jiggling not unlike jelly
He swiftly cut across the belly
Working through the folds of fat
Knifing open large cuts that
Trickled blood, unleashing gore
Down his legs onto the floor
Speak up now, do not delay.
For I can keep this up all day.
The captives eyes flooded with hate
His middle finger stuck up straight
Knife in motion with a start
The torturer remarked, "Not smart."
In a forceful reprimand
He sliced off the entire hand
And yet as the apendage fell
So did its manacle as well
With a sudden surge of glee
the captive swung his right arm free
The torturer let out a cry
As it cut off his air supply
Though he fought with all his might
The prisoner held on too tight
Exerting a tremendous force
The grip was held with no remorse
Attemping at a final word
The captor stuggled to be heard
It seems I must bid you farewell
Yet mark my words, we'll meet in hell
A gentle sigh , a sudden crack
A torturer's soft neck snapped back
The corpse touched lightly on the floor
A Pity
His remorseless soul deserved far more
As the prison guards stormed in
The captives face shown forth a grin
Rejecting life, embracing death
He drew upon his final breath
Ricocheting off the walls
