I have started Dracula by Bram Stoker. It is written in the epistolary style; that is, it is presented as a collection of diary entries, letters, and newspaper clippings. What contemporary novels use this style?
Seems it's not a very popular form - also very difficult to do well.
The only contemporary books that come to mind are the Nan McCarthy cyber books. She has written a trilogy that consists of emails between people who met online. I haven't read them, but they sound interesting.
Another book that uses elements of this style is Carrie by Stephen King. Each chapter is headed with a newspaper clipping and then the chapter is regular old prose.
Strangly enough there is also a short story by Stephen King written entirely in epistolary style. It is called Jerusalem's Lot (and no I am not cofusing that with the novel Salem's Lot which is not written epistolary.)
Other than those I know of no others though I am sure there are others.
