Extras - Gervais' new programme

Is he trying to stop us watching it by having Ben Stiller in it?

I thought it was a good start to the series. If he can get Ben Stiler to play himself in that bad a light I’ll be interested to see what humiliation they pour onto Les Dennis. (Obviously no more than his wife managed)

What a contrast - Ben Stiller, Samuel L Jackson, Kate Winslet...... and Ross Kemp and Les Dennis!

I thought it was pretty good last night but it always takes me a while to warm into new series.

Yes, Jonathan Ross on his chat show recently claimed to have persuaded Ricky Gervais to switch the first two episodes. But it may equally have been more to do with HBO wanting a famous American face in the first one, as opposed to, er, Ross Kemp.

I hated The Office (mainly because I can't stand Gervais's character) but I thought I'd tune in to Extras anyway. To my surprise I actually enjoyed and even laughed at him for the first time. The bit where he was trying to blag being a fan of Kurosawa I found particuarly amusing for some reason and the whole thing with the short leg was very funny.

I also like it when actors take the piss out of themselves so my hat goes off to Ben Stiller. Someone else I often find isn't as funny as he thinks he is.

Think I'll be tuning in again.

Didnt like gervais in the office, not funny what so ever, and watch hes new stuff for 10 mins, really i am not a fan of anything he does :(

I didn't rate it at all. I'm not a great fan of Gervais anyway, but he was okay in The Office (though playing himself, I think). However, Extras hardly made me laugh at all. There were hardly any jokes and I gave up after 20 minutes. I won't be watching again.

Missed last night's by virtue of being out all night in various boozers. Now I'm at work wishing there was something better to do with Fridays.

I normally find most comedies quite predictable, but I can honestly say I wasn't expecting the "Try and get a bit of minge round it" line from last nights show.

I can't stand Ross Kemp and, because of that, nearly didn't watch last night's show but he totally won me over. I prefer him acting wimpy to all that macho stuff he normally does. I thought this show was better than last week's.
