Okay, since I got such a quick and friendly reply, I will try one more book, then I'm going to bed.
A pre-history book, involving an indian tribe, ruled by women. I am not sure, why, but a young princess of the women tribe is promised to the firstborn prince of the neighboring 'normal' tribe, but she is in love with another warrior, and her betrothed is also in love with another. They end up discovering the warrior she is in love with WAS the firstborn son.
I remember a mention of a sacred woman dance they did in a cave. And alot about cave paintings. Other than that it is pretty vauge. I remember The women, when they had children something happened to them. The boy babies went to thier fathers, or something like that. It was a good read, had alot of twists and turns.
