For All Atwood Fans...

I've read Surfacing, The Blind Assassin, The Handmaid's Tale, and Oryx and Crake.

For someone who hasn't read any Atwood, I would recommend The Handmaid's Tale. It's one of her most well-known books and in my experience, most people I've talked to enjoy it immensly.

I've read Cat's eye, Alias Grace, The Handmaid's Tale and Oryx and Crake.

Cat's eye is one of my favourites among the books I've read but I also liked The Handmaid's Tale. The only Atwood book I've disliked so far was Alias Grace.

Did anyone else get a "Chickie Nobs" pop-up window from that site?

I have read no Atwood. I plan to, but most fiction on my list tends to get prioritized downwards.

I unfortunately sat through the HBO moviezation of "Handmade's Tale." It was years ago, but I don't remember enjoying it. I will not judge the book based on that experience.

My favourte Atwood book is Alias Grace. It's also the first one I read, and I'm quite glad I started with that one.

I've also read The Blind Assassin, Cat's Eye, The Handmaid's Tale, The Robber Bride, Lady Oracle and Oryx and Crake. All were quite good, but not comparable to Alias Grace, IMO.

From her list, these are my favourites:

The Blind Assassin - my choice for #1

Followed closely by:
Oryx and Crake
Alias Grace
The Handmaid's Tale
The Robber Bride

If you like those, you'll probably also like:
Cat's Eye
The Edible Woman
Surfacing
Lady Oracle

BTW, she's also written a good deal of poetry and non-fiction that might be of interest.

She's written non-fiction? I'll have to look that up. :) I do recall that she wrote a book, or a series of essays about the process of writing, but I haven't read it.
