Just finished it today in four sittings. This work was definitely a good piece of historical fiction. Many historical figures during Bolivar's life time played their respective roles and Marquez covered many battles and political intrigue and infighting in a creative way. I really liked how this book was written, it was perhaps done a bit too well as Marquez vividly described the liberator's physical ailments. I will leave it up to the rest of you to read this book and find out what I'm talking about.:whistling: Like Love in the time of Cholera, the river plays a prominent role.
