Hey! Who absolutly adores Garth Nix? He has a new book out, you know. It is called "The Creature in the Case" and i really want to hop out of my house and go buy it! Who's read his other old kingdom books, Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen? Which is the best? I vote on Sabriel, cuz it got me into his stuff. I also like Shade's Children by him!!!

You beat me to it, Phil! :)

Jennasa, have a look in the Children's Fiction forum, where Nix has a few threads. :)

I've read two books from the Keys to the Kingdom series, which I thought were both entertaining and very colourful :D

I've also read two books from the Old Kingdom series and unfortunately though it had some interesting ideas, didnt find it as well written.

Like Rune I also have recently ventured into the Old Kingdom work which apparenlty is more popualr work by far, hoeever for soem reason found his Keys to the Kingdom series more worthwhile. The former just seems to be run-of-the-mill-fantasy to me (albeit written at a level higher than average, don't get me wrong) while the Keys to the Kingdom have very interesting instanves of brilliance (not to mention his obvious admiration from perhaps the greatest of all time Mervyn Peake). I don't want to be redundant, my thougths on the first 2 instalments of the Keys to the Kingdom are in my reviews, if interested:

My review of Mister Monday is HERE

and Grim Tuesday is HERE

I take it then you're looking forward to the third book in this series :) It's out soon :D
