Girl in a swing Richard Adams

My wife thoroughly enjoyed this book but has struggled to find anything of a similar style by another author, any suggestions would be welcome.

I haven't read Girl on a Swing but as far as I know it's a sort of literary ghost story, isn't it? In that case your wife might like to try The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins or The Woman in Black by Susan Hill - after that I have run out of The Woman in [insert colour here] titles, sorry.
