Gordon Brown

So, what do you folks across the pond think about him? The Washington Post and other publications have articles about him on occasion, usually negative.

I tend not to watch much news since it all seems to be some sort of spin which i dont care for. But when ever i see him talking or anything he seems kind of dumb(not sure if thats the right word) or something, and hes pretty obsessed with war. Other then that i can't say i know much. But considering i despise almost every politician , im leaning towards 2 thumbs down for him.:D

He's a tosser. He hasn't got a fucking clue about the economy and pissed away all our money and now he's blithely stealing more and more with every passing day.

Someone needs to seal up all his orifices, inflate him with a bicycle pump and then pop him with a pin.

Strange, those descriptors perfectly describe our leader here in the states.:D

Your idiot is more entertaining than our bilious blowhard. When the Tory party disintegrated it was at least done with sleazy style. If you're going to piss away money, at least piss it away on drugs and prostitutes. Kitchens and window cleaners do not keep me amused. I hate them all, but I think I prefer corruption to incompetence.

Your idiot is more entertaining than our bilious blowhard...

The people of Iraq might disagree over the entertainment factor.

The British Labour Party (certainly in Parliament) has been Tory Lite for some time. It's obsessed with the market and with privatisation, and has lost its way and stopped listening to what people actually want.

And the Tory Party proper, if in its place, would be no better.

I don't trust the Tory party either. Trouble is the Lib Dem's under Clegg are shite too.

I've become a floating voter and I don't much like it. Dunno what I'm going to do in the next general.

Our village idiot is oblivious to reason and lives in his own bubble. His former press secretary came out with a book that said we went to war in Iraq based on propaganda that the administration knew was false, that two members of the cabinet got their story straght and colluded with one another in regards to a case of an undercover agent being outed for political reasons(i.e.-her husband embarrassed the administration by saying there was no yellowcake uranium in Nigeria) and that the press corps doesn't press hard enough in conferences and interviews. All of these claims are true and have been known for quite some time, it's nice to see the former press secretary come around and recognize that he was doing nothing more than lying for these unprincipled and amoral nitwits.

It's just a shame he didn't have the guts to blow the whistle while he was in the press secretary position and resign on principle. Or maybe the country was so far gone and Karl Rove was such a talented smearer of reputations that it wouldn't have made any difference.

I'm surprised that Gordon Brown is so disliked. I thought Tony Blair was pretty much despised for being George Bush's pet lapdog and that Brown might actually assert a bit of independence, especially now that Bush's popularity has taken such a hammering.

I don't know much about him, but he defends himself pretty well on Prime Minister's Questions (yes, I sometimes watch CSPAN). I wish we could have the President's Questions here in the US. I would love to see ole George W. attempt to answer questions from our members of Congress. AND the oppurtunity to openly boo and catcall the President could revitalize American interest in politics... you never know.

Anyway.. at least Gordon Brown doesn't sound that much like an idiot.

I don't know much about him, but he defends himself pretty well on Prime Minister's Questions

No he doesn't. He's never answered a question with a straight answer, he always bashes out the same 'Labour has brought this country 10 years of economic blah, blah, blah' and then he slags off the Tories for not having any real policies. He doesn't need to turn up anymore. They can just play his responses from the last session over and over again. No one will notice the difference.
