Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

I'm Jaideska, it's nice to be here and I hope that we'll all get along famously.

I will be posting up a collaboration peice that myself and a few of my friends are writing,

One of the main reasons I'm joining this forum (along with those co authors) is that our sci-fi story has become a little too intimidating (in size) for the rather young member base of our home forum.

We've come here because we don't want to lose feedback for our posts and we believe that spreading through other forums will give us the feedback we're looking for.

Like I said, the thread will be up soon, but if you'd like, I've set up a blog with the entire story uninterupted, you'll be able to find a link to it here and in the thread I will create in the near future.

Thanks and hopefully I'll see you all soon.

Hi and welcome to the forum! :) Tell us a little more about yourself - who/what are your favourite authors/books?

Well as for favorite books and authors.

To tell you the truth I haven't really read much lately, ( I don't make the time)

But I'm currently poking around in John Ralston Saul's "On Equilibrium" which I find to be very interesting!

Most of my other books are in the fantasy column. I burnt out on Stephen Kings Dark Tower series and read book 1 to 4 in about 2 days LOL (one night had been sleepless)

I really liked George Orwells "1984" however I'd have to read it again, at the time I was reading it for school and I fear that even though I did capture alot of the emotionally striking parts, I didn't quite feel the entire book as well as I could have if I simply read it out of leisure. Hence the reason I bought the book last year, and it's been collecting dust ever since. :(

HAh, ;)

Outside of reading I love writing, my current project is "On a Gehenna Wind" A sci-fi collaboration that you can take a look at by clicking on the link in my sig. It's still a little messy I've got to segregate it into chapters and the like, I want my team to give me feedback on all that though so we're waiting on it.

I used to write poetry in mounds when I was in highschool (and in that average teenage depression) but it seems I've kind of lost the gift. I pull a few good ones out here and there if I'm feeling cruddy enough mind you ;)

I also like to draw and in good news I finally got my digital drawing pad Graphire so I can draw directly into a program like Photoshop :D :D I'm happy about that, Tired it at my friends, it's going to take a little bit of getting used to but I'm sure I'll be fine after a while.

Let's see what else is there. Well there's the basics I guess.

I'm a 20 year old Canadian University student currently studying a double Major in English and Psychology in northern Ontario, I hope to teach in the future, with a bilingual bachelor (Yeah I'm french too ;) )

I like keeping myself in shape, I'm an intermediate runner (I did an 18 kilometer during the thick of summer and had a bunch of 10's and 12's and 8's throughout)

Unfortunately my bike got stolen and I lost my crosstraining device :( So I got a little lazy and started delving more into my computer geekishness.

I play alot of video games (hence the computer geekishness), mostly PC games, but I have a ps2 and a few of those games.

I like adventure games and fantasy but I also like alot of Shooters, for instance Half-life is amazing and so are most of its modifications like Counter-Strike Source and the like.

Could I mention anything else? Hmm.. well if you're interested you can take a look at my personal blog and delve a little deeper into the rabbit hole which is my life ;)

I'm hoping to become a big part of your community here, hopefully you guys can give me a good kick in the rear end to get me reading again LOL.

Well then if you've got any questions please feel free to ask them, I'm probably more open than you think.(Of course this huge amount of information from a simple question has probably already given you the impression that I'm open... whatever ;) )

Welcome. It's nice to have another writer on the forum! I'll be sure to check out your work in the Writers Showcase section of the site and post some feedback for you and your co-writer.

I love the avatar... Roland? I am a fellow Dark Tower nut.

By the way, John Ralston Saul's "On Equilibrium"... is that anything like the movie Equilibrium?

I hope you haven't come here just to post photos of yourself...

I have no idea what you meant by that... ... I'm thoroughly confused. But nice to meet you :D

No not at all! LoL, Although Equilibrium is a really good movie!

On Equilibrium is none fiction

"It's an intelligent, persuasive and controversial exploration of the essential qualities of humanity and how they can be used to achieve equilibrium for the self and to foster an ethical society. it is at once an attack on our weakness for ideologies and a manual for humanist action."

That's right off the back of the book :) LOL

hello jaideska, read abit of your "On a Gehenna Wind", kindda long... I'm still quite in the beginning...

Nice to meet you!

Good to know! I hope it's catching your interest, please, feel free to comment.

Awesome intro! Hope to see you around! :)

PS: The whole teaching thing and Northern Ontario thing remind me of the comic strip, For Better or Worse, which I've been reading for years!

I have not said hello before because I wasn't sure you were going to stay or whether you wanted us to go away. That 'Godspeed' in the title of your thread made it sound like a farewell.:)
