i know this is poetry, but i am not a poet and i know it(hahaha). i want to just have a little fun with it. i had a friend who sent me haiku's everyday and then he got a job he liked, so no more haiku's.

quiet,peaceful,bliss
coffee is still hot, donut
shit,where is the kid

I can't do haiku. For some reason, syllables don't make any sense to me. I get the theory, but I just can't seem to figure out where the syllables end.

newbie here on board
isolated from drama
not much else to say

flaming everywhere
I have no history here
no info or guide

confused and alone
I lack an identity
no clique has claimed me

what should I do here?
shut up? or comment freely?
return to old board?

but I keep trying
weed through all the animous
and talk about farts

lol I could go on all night with this but y'all get the idea.

I could never let a haiku thread die! In the Japanese model:

A gentle wind shakes
a pink-white petal snow fall
Apple blossom time

A couple of outdoor-related ones that made one of my magazine editors laugh:

Branches break, ears perk
White tail bounces through the brush
Curse my clumsy feet!

Strange but soft pink bait
Longing to be a rainbow
Twenty inch catfish

:)

how can you all the resist? come one!!! i'm looking for a cross between a traditional japanese haiku and a limerick. i know the syllabels are confusing, i think my last poem is wrong, but get those mental juices flowing!!!!!

There once was a dog
with onion skin on his snout.
Vacuum suck nose flake.
