Happy Birthday Cathy C!

Halo

:) Happy Birthday Cathy C! :) Hope you are having/had a great day (can never figure out the time difference  )

I did, yesterday! (darn those time differences! ) My hubby, the former chef, made me slow-cooked chicken over charcoal and mesquite, asparagas with fresh Hollandaise, baked potato and a dessert I've always wanted to try: Chocolate mousse pie! Three decadent layers of chocolate, heavy cream, butter and egg yolks in an Oreo cookie crust! Enough to stop your heart just walking by it! And it's mine, I tell you -- ALL MINE! (Well, okay, I'll share -- but only a little bit each) :D :p

Happy Birthday Cathy.

Maybe we Scorpios should take over this place. I know that I, for one, am revolting. :D

Heehee. I've been told that too. :D

And since today is my birthday... The penguins give me strength. Long live the penguins!

(PS -- What to my wondering eyes did appear today -- three days before Thanksgiving, and right in my front yard? And me with a bird thawing in the fridge... :( )

where'd you get those lawn flamingos?

Mail order from a catalog called "Things You Never Knew Existed". They're on the web. Always wanted a pair next to a pond, but the pond was too far away to see every day, so we went with the fountain! :p

I have to say that I love the carving in the tree

Same catalog, different month! They're Halloween spooky faces. Actually molded foam to look like bark. The eyes and teeth glow in the dark, which scared the bejeebers out of our neighbors the first night. :D We got several and they became permanent to those trees that seemed to need faces. They're happy that way!

Here's the pond last week, which is lovely and as you can see, just CRIES out for flamingos, but it's too far from the house. So we're stuck with the occasional blue heron... sigh!
