this might be moved to the harry potter bit but its a book made to a movie so put it here!

wow!! is all i can say at the moment! im just back from seeing harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban and it was so different from the first 2, you'd think it was a whole different series of book! the actors were fab...actually acting! you can tell they have grown up from the way they look but also the quality of acting!
it was a really dark film, as in even in the sun light it was still dark and grainy! and moved pretty fast! i dont think kids would be able to follow it, or people who hadn't read the book. the camera angles, music, sets were all different. i wish this director did the first 2 films! this is how they are meant to be! i wanna see it again....!!!!!!!!!!!
il say more later. still digesting it!

We saw it yesterday, so ner!! :D

I liked it, Ice didnt (which is surprising cos she's the bigger fan.)

The change in feel of the movie would be down to the different director, and he did an ok job, if it wasnt for his annoyingly repetative filler scenes :)

And just for the record, Danny Radcliffe still cant act!! 'OOOH, PRETTY!!'

Phil

hehe well comapred to the first 2 movies his acting was good! not oscar nomination good but good enough for me anyway!
yeah i feel ya about the filler things! noticed alot of them.

amy :D

ps - still think its great :D

I was disappointed with the film (ok I thought it was crap  ) I'm going to have to agree with Phil here as I think Daniel Radcliffe is an awful actor, and I didn't think that Cuaron did a very good job at directing it either, I personally thought Columbus was better even with all the pointless Quidditch scenes he insisted on putting in  (it also didn't help that they cast Thewlis to play Lupin as I can't stand him  )

I agree with Ice. We just got back from seeing the movie and I came out of it disappointed. I felt the new director really chopped up the book and left out some pertinent information. For people like my husband, who haven't read the books, they leave the theater with a "Huh?" feeling. All the way home, I found myself explaining a few plot points to him, that of course I'd read in the book, so that he could better understand what was going on. Also, the only book that I thought was really "dark" was 5. I didn't think they needed to portray 3 as dark as they did.

The movie wasn't bad, but I would recommend to all my friends that they wait until it comes out on video.

Also, all those kids are growing up so fast! They need to speed up making the rest of the movies before Ron, Hermione and Harry look middle-aged and try to pass themselves off as "fifth-years" at Hogwarts!!

I saw this last Friday and I really enjoyed it! I thought the director did a pretty good job, though my brother moaned that a lot had been left out (but I guess they would have to if they didn't want it to be five hours long). Daniel Radcliffe is still a crap actor, but he was slightly better than in the first one, which is the only other one I've seen. I thought that all the other actors were spot on.
Random gripes:

There should have been more of the Divination teacher predicting Harry's death, purely because those scenes are so funny.
I don't think it was actually explained in the film who Prongs, Padfoot etc were (I may be wrong here)
It seemed to leave out the line "you may be glad one day that you saved Wormtail's life", which I think is a pretty important line (again, I may be wrong)
I thought the werewolf was crap! Sirius' dog and Buckbeak were surprisingly good.

I loved the darkness of the look of the film, and the "time" motifs (like focusing on the big cogs of that clock). Will have to rent HP 1 and 2 now I think! :)

I agree. Also how did sirius know how to get into the whomping willow, and why did he go?

I've read the book, but if you haven't, you won't know...

I went to cinema today to see this film. I enjoyed it very much. It was fast pace film. I tried to remember the story, last time I read HP3 about over 2 years ago. There were lots of story drop out. I prefer this film than HP 1 and 2. My favourite bits was the ghost bus was brilliant. Daniel's facial express are same all right through the film!
