I'm looking for a book that I read in the early 90's from a local library.
It was concerning a people who lived high up in the trees of a forest. They glided everywhere they went, except the younger children who had to follow paths built between the trees until they learned to glide. It always rained in the evening so you had to be where you wanted to be or walk. The forest floor was not a suggested place to visit, but when this one or two characters did they found that another people lived underground. When the two peoples were brought together, they discovered they had a type of power. I think telekinesis came into it. I don't remember much more. Anyone have any idea? It would have been in the young adult fantasy genre section.
