Having trouble looking for a specific type of book

I want to read book where the main character is a sociopath, or at least has some degree of antisocial personality disorder.

I've asked around and people don't seem to get what i'm asking. I'm not asking just for books about serial killers or murder mysteries. They can be about anything, really. The plot would obviously be dark, but it doesn't have to be grisly and full of blood.

Examples:

The Talented Mr Ripley
Gold Rush (Miri Yu)
Grotesque (Natsuo Kirino)
Nero (Edward Champlin)
American Psycho

I think there's also a genre called 'psycho-noir' that's basically what i'm looking for. But again, when searching the genre or specific tags I really don't get anything.

If you could throw some titles at me that you think are a match, i'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Perfume - Susskind comes to mind.

I have definitely read others too. Will rack my brain and get back to you on this one...

I already have fight club on my read list (though i never really though about who the main character is and what he's like, having seen the movie. so i'm glad you pointed that out to me.. makes me want to read it more)

And perfume was a great recommendation, thanks!

Most of Highsmith would match what you are looking for.
Stranger on a train,the blunderer.

In a cold blood By Capote .

Elmore Leonare -City primeval as good psycho charactere.(noir)

On another scale Mishima-The sailor who fell out of grace with the see as a bunch of asocial kids.

The demon By Hubert Selby is the best i ever read in the genre.

That's it for now.
Make sure to put Sleby high on your list :D

A Feast of Snakes OR All We Need of Hell OR The Gospel Singer OR Celebration - Harry Crews

I, Lucifer - Glen Duncan

read more Ellis and Palahniuk generally.
