Hello All!!

I am Olivia I am 14 years old and I am from a little old town Motueka, New Zealand! I adore historical novels and I enjoy reading historical non fiction! I cannot wait until I am in Year 11 at school because I can start taking History!
I love reading, writing, swimming, playing netball, playing basketball, cooking and being with my friends and my awesome boyfriend Daniel! I have 2 cats 1 sister 1 mother (duh) and one father (fancy that!)recently (yesterday) I lost my great grandfather who died soon after having a stroke. He fought in WW2. I look forward to meeting you all!! :D :D :D

Welcome

I'm sorry about your grandfather. Where did he fight in fight in WWII, in the Pacific or in Europe?

Are you ready for Dickens? If so, you might enjoy The Tale of Two Cities, which is about the French Revolution.

If you like American books, you might try Gone with the Wind, a very long novel about the Civil War, with lots of action and interesting characters.

Reading biographies of important women will give you a lot of history. Eleanor Roosevelt (politics and social action), Marie Curie (science) and Charlotte Bronte (literatuve) are a few of the ones I have enjoyed learning about.

Red Badge of Courage is also a pretty good Civil War era novel.

Welcome aboard!
