Hello (sorry, my English isn't very good ),

my name is Scarlett (not inspired by "Gone with the Wind" ) and I'm a 20 years old student (I study German and European economic law) from Germany.
I got to know about this forum in a German forum and decided to register because I thought it would be nice to improve my English by conversing about books.

I enjoy reading fantasy and classic English literature because I love the geography, geology, biology, social science and history of Great Britain and Ireland.

My favourite authors are: JK Rowling, JRR Tolkien, Tad Williams, Oscar Wilde, Jane Austen, C. S. Lewis, Frances Hodgson Burnett, Markus Heitz and many more.

Furthermore I'm interested in rock music, writing, going out with friends, sports, other languages and cultures.

I'd be very glad to be admitted into your nice group and to meet many new people from all over the world.

Hi Scarlett. Does Germany have a bestselling-book list? If so, what's on it? Is it mostly German books or books from other countries, in translation?

Hi novella! Oh yes, we have the very famous bestselling-book list "Spiegel-Beststeller".
Here (spiegel.de/kultur/charts/0,1518,458992,00.html) you can see the paperback bestsellers and here (spiegel.de/kultur/charts/0,1518,458991,00.html) the hardcover bestsellers. The fiction books are listed on the left hand side and on the right hand side you can see the non-fiction bestsellers.
I'm not sure but I have the impression that there are more books from other countries represented (especially from English-speaking countries in translation).
