Hello!

I like all sorts of books!!! I am actually a huge fan of the classics. Steinbeck is my favorite author for "literature." I am also a big science fiction (Philip K. Dick) and horror (King) reader! I recently read a book called "Beings in a Dream" by David Field which I really enjoyed but I have not been able to find anyone else who has read it!

I'd be surprised if anyone read it. It looks as if he's just sent off his manuscript to Athena and, as they state on the website, published it within two weeks. You've mentioned it on three of your four posts: you wouldn't happen to know the guy, would you?

Hi Stewart. No, I don't know the guy. I have been trying to find out more about him and thought that this would be a good place to find anyone else who has read the book. I posted it in a few places because I wasn't really sure what genre it would be considered. I got the book off of amazon...and unless the author has made trips to the USA recently, I wouldn't know him!

You can't go wrong with Steinbeck, excellent choice. Which one of his is your favorite? I'm a huge Grapes of Wrath fan. The one work of his which I absolutely detest is A Winter Of Our Discontent, just couldn't get into it. We have some good Stephen King threads. Sevenwritez is very rabid about not only reading King, but deflecting criticism of King. In his world, King ranks up there with Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky, and ________________(fill in profound name of literature)

My favorite Steinbeck work is East of Eden, but I actually liked Winter of Our Discontent. I haven't read anything by Steinbeck I didn't like. I did see a few threads about King. I am looking forward to getting in on those conversations. I have been reading King since I was 12. Has anyone read anything by Robert McCammon? I guess he would be worth starting a new thread...
