I've been surfing the web lately looking for online communities to join and began by searching for book clubs. I came to this one in a convoluted way through the main vbulletin site.
I read mostly non-fiction. The last fiction I read was Shibumi by Trevanian about twenty years ago.
I was excited to see a forum on newspapers and magazines! I have been keeping a file on the demise of them and other traditional media. It will be sad to see so many of them die off due to competition from the internet, but then again, I, as a "digital information snacker", am part of the problem. Why take a trip to the bookstore, of which there are many fewer now than before, when I can just go to Wikipedia and be an instant expert on any subject that pops into my mind?
My favorite book of all time is How I Made $2 Million in the Stock Market by Nicolas Darvas.
I am currently reading Maximum Achievement by Brian Tracy.
I have a few books on my wish list right now of which Richistan is one.
Glad to be here, I'm off to continue my search for other special interest communities and message boards.
