I used to be a children's book buyer and someone asked today if I remembered a particular series of books, which I vaguely do but cannot for the life of me think who wrote it! We're a bit vague with the details but if anyone recognises it, you'll be a lifesaver! (Well, sanity saver!)
I remember reading them when I was about 9 or 10 so they must have been written 1990 or earlier (if my memory serves correct!)
They have an odd character called something like Carson (I thought it was Corben but we could both be wrong!) who is quite short, stout, wears dungarees and a cap with helecopter blades that enable him to fly. He's befriended a lonely young lad that I think is called Sebastian (Bass for short), or Bass is the older brother of the lonely young lad, I don't remember which.
They get into a variety of scrapes together but there's always some moral to the stories...
We've tried googling names and variations off and just no joy. I know it's not much to go on but I'm hoping someone out there has read them!
