well i took late immersion. starting in grade 7 all my classes were completely in french, even gym. one of the methods they used was by getting us to read very simple childrens french books, like little red riding hood or jack and the bean stock. knowing the story already but reading it in french was really helpful and learning sentence structure. i don't know if that helps. also we watched movies and tv in french all the time.

This reminds me of "El Patito Feo". :D
I tried learning Spanish at my own, after having learned it 3 years at college. But I kind of gave up, think I'll start again, especially after having read all the great advices at "learning German"-thread. :)

It's okay Honey, we're here to help you. :) Give us something specific and we'll give you a crash course.

Do you remember your verbs? Avoir and être? That's probably a good place to start.

I can get you some French music if you'd like, I find focusing on that (even if you can't understand a word of it) is very good for helping your brain remember French. You'd be surprised how much your subconscious mind remembers.

I know how to say "My name is" in French, don't know how to write it though. So that wouldn't be much help.

I know two expressions in latin, however. I hope I remember them right:
Pacta sunt servanda
Pacta non sunt semper servanda (not sure if I got the words in right order)

First one means, I'm translating from Norwegian to English now, so it might get a little messy: Deals should be kept (meaning agreements should not be broken)
The next one means: No one is bound to fulfill something impossible.

So, honey, what do you say? Learned something new today?

(PS! DON'T BREAK MY HEART!)
