After seeing Elysium last night (which was okay) it got me thinking about Sci-Fi again which lead to Cyberpunk which led to me thinking about the Deus Ex game which lead back to a certain book I read
about that was an inspiration for Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The problem is that I can't remember the title or author. Just the book cover.
The cover was in a 70's to early 80's art style and had a guy seen from a 3/4 back view. He may or may not have been naked, but definitely wasn't wearing a shirt. He had two robot arms and was sitting on a rock in the middle of what looked like a desert, and he was in the "Thinking Man" pose.
I know its hard since books always have multiple versions of covers, but if I remember right this book was about humans in the future getting robotic implants. The underlying theme might have been about how far can you go before you stop being human or something like that. The guy on the cover had two black arms that looks almost identical to the arms Jensen has in DE:HR. I also want to say this book came out before Cyberpunk was even a word. It may have been a story from the 50's and the cover I saw was from an edition that came out in the 70's/80's.
Thats all I remember about it, but I was interested in looking that book up again. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
