Hello to all, I'm an artist in southern Florida interested in E Hemingway and his life.
After reading some of his Key West/Cuba works my wife came up with the idea of "Postcards to Ernest". A series of postcards sent to him from an unknown friend, depicting images of life in the islands during the times of some specific island books he wrote.

Here is the first in a the series:

I would like your feedback, this image is 18x24 watercolor/acrylic on arches 140 lb cold press.

I will start to show in Feb 2011 at gallery in Key West on Duval and so far there is strong interest. I love the stories and parts of his life, I grew up next to Oak Park in the area where he went to high school and where he ended his life in Idaho. Mostly I love the memories of him in Key West.

Thanks for any feedback.

Thanks, I live in Ft Myers and Islamorada, I sell alot of Vacation Memories type art on Sanibel Island and in Key west. If interested in seeing my tourist art you can go to:
Southwest Florida 4U

I'm finishing my second postcard now about "To Have and Have Not", they are difficult because his books are so rich in character and location, along with a fast moving story line.

thanks for the feedback.
Terry
